Scientific sessions will be presented on Thursday, September 27 and Friday, September 28. Here are some guidelines to help in your preparation of Abstracts for platform or poster presentations. Abstracts must be limited to a total of 500 words. Text and authors information should be entered into the fields below. Make sure all contact information is provided for the presenting author. Please email the Abstract Committee for any special accommodations needed.

Abstracts accepted for presentation will be published electronically in the Journal of Investigative Surgery, the official journal of the Academy of Surgical Research unless authors opt-out.

It is NOT possible to save partially completed abstracts. Therefore, it is recommended that the complete document be prepared and finalized in a word formate, then cut and paste into the appropriate fields. Additionally final abstracts can be uploaded to a secure site. If uploading abstract author must still complete attached document. Abstract Submission Deadline: August 3, 2018 Extended to August 10, 2018 Notification of Acceptance: August 10, 2018. Please note that it will not be possible to edit an abstract after it has been submitted.

A limit of two posters may be presented by one author. Please be sure to have a presenting author register for the meeting. Registration is required for all accepted podium and poster presentations for the meeting ($495.00 for members, and $650.00 for non-members- please see for more information on registration procedures).

Speaker warrants that the content of Speaker's presentation covered by this agreement does not violate any proprietary rights of any third parties, including copyright rights. Speaker further warrants that the content of the presentation will not be libelous, slanderous or defamatory in any way.

Speaker shall defend, indemnify and hold ASR harmless against any and all claims brought against ASR alleging that the presentation violates any proprietary rights, is slanderous or libelous in any way, or relate in any way to the warranties made by Speaker hereunder.

SPEAKER agrees to allow ASR to reproduce conference presentation materials and distribute exclusively to conference attendees in hard copy and / or electronic versions. ASR agrees not to release these materials into the public domain through its website or other methods.

ASR conferences are noncommercial forums. Speakers will refrain from the use of brand names and specific product endorsement whenever possible. Under no circumstances should the session podium be used as a place for direct promotion of a speaker's company, product, service or monetary self-interest.
